linuxはdebian系が多いよ。管理楽だし。
windowsは世間同様はびこっているが、Mac信仰も相変わらず根強い。

俺はSLが一番楽だ。

SLなんかつまらないOSだろ？
SLしか知らない奴だから客韓的に評価することができないんだろうが…

つまらないかどうかはあまり関係ない。
仕事だと機能が良くて手間のかからないのが一番いいんだよ。

仕事でなくても運用するなら
手間のかからないのが一番だ

Macは多いよな。
Xが動かせて、Unixとの親和性が高いし、それでいて大学とかの書類がWord/Excel、学会でPPTだったりするからね。

U/Iをグノームクラシックにしてしまえば、LubuntuでもSLと同等以上になるよ。
そして、オープンボックスにして、既定のブラウザをクロミウムにしておけば、
クロームOSと同等になる。
以前、今使用しているPCにSLを入れたところログにエラーが発生しててね、また
動画再生が鈍いので、止めたんだよ。デビアンもでもそうだったぞ。
だから、PCのハードのスペックやPCのシステム設計やチップセットによって、
ここのユーザーにより異なると思うよ。

CentOSよりSLが好き

SLは6.0からずっと使ってるが、CentOSよりSLがいいって意見は理解できない

SL6.5をLiveCDで入れたかったんだけど

ココ見ると 6.5のLiveCDはまだないようなので

を参考に、素のLive6.4 → アップデートした最新6.4 → 6.5にアップグレード
で、出来ました。

数ヶ月ほど前からかな。うちではLive6.4 → 6.4最新にアップデートすると
xorg がほぼmaxにCPUを食って描画が異常に遅くなる現象があって

を参考に使っていたのだけど、VLCプレイヤをX11ビデオ出力(XCB)に設定しないと
映像が出ないし出てもチラつきがあって悶々としていたのが 6.4最新 → 6.5 で解消しました。
快適です。

昨日入れた
初期設定大変だけど前に入ってたUbuntu以上に安定してる

窮屈なもんでスマホ画面から一気に27インチにするます

後はそこから今日までを考えて
ずいぶん前と感じるかどうかは主観によるとしか言いようがない

いまある6.6 は、2014年11月6日に出された RC2 (Release Candiate 2)
RC2は、正式版の前のリリース候補版だけど、今後大きなバグがなければ
11月12日に正式版になる予定。

scientificとCENTに互換性があるのか、6.*ではバイナリレベルで
バッティングしたりした。nehalemからHaswell-EPに箱を替えるので
7.*ではレポジトリを上手く選ばないと。

7からRPMforgeをyumしたら、そんなのないだって、epelはあった。
UEFI に対応してたから比較的最近のPCにも入れるのは簡単になったな。
init.dからsystemctlに変わったりなので、運用中のものはそのままをお奨め。

ATT（米国テレホンテレグラフ）のベル研究所で開発されたのがUnixSystem５
開発言語Cもそこで生まれた。

MATE Desktopのライブラリ非整合、まだ直らないのか。

NOTE: The 'everything' dvd image requires a Dual-Layer (DL) compatible
drive for both burning and booting off of.

Alternatively the livecd-iso-to-disk utility is able to convert
this to USB successfully. A USB device of sufficient size is
required.

Alternatively you can utilize the dd command to write the
raw image to a USB device.

さてアップデートだ。

yum-plugin-prioritiesプラグインを入れていると、アップデートされるべき
rpmのうち100近くが留保になる。

VMwareで7.1がインストールできん・・・。
7.0→7.1のアップデートはできたんだけどなぁ。

6.6（SLC_6.6_i386_dvd.iso）を
Oracle VM VirtualBoxにインストールしたんだけど
起動させてdfで見たら1GBもインストールされてないんだけど
こんなもんなんだっけ？

インストール時もビデオメモリ増やしたりしたんだけど
テキストベースのインストーラだった

sssd-common is no longer multilib compatible. If you are using
sssd-common.i686 on x86_64 systems you will be unable to update. Please
remove the i686 rpm on your x86_64 systems to resolve this issue.

BT5R3で親指シフトをうちたいです。。左親指キーがずれたとこにあっていやだ。どうやって調整するんですか？

SL6.4が動いているマシンのHDDを取り外して新規のものに交換し、SL7.1をインストールしたのだけれど、
/dev/st0が作られておらず、DATでのデータ移行ができません。
システムディスクはLSI-loicのSASに、DATはAdaptec29160Nにつながっていますが、
SL6.4の/proc/scsi/scsiには29160N+DATが記載されていますが、SL7.1では
記載されていません。　29160Nを29320Aに変えても駄目でした。　SL7.1で使用できる
パラレルSCSIのHBAで適当なものを知っていれば教えてください。

SL7.1では「lspci」でpciスロットにある29160Nが検出されていることは確認できますが、
/proc/scsi下に　aic7xxxのディレクトリーが作られていないので、aic7xxxのドライバが読み込まれていないと思われます。
尚、SL6.4では/proc/scsi下にaic7xxxのディレクトリーがありますし、/proc/scsi/scsiには
DATデバイスがリストされていて、tarでDATにバックアップ／レストアできます。
　一昔前のデファクトだったAdaptecのAIC7xxxのSCSIのドライバがSL6からSL7になった時点で
排除されてしまうとは考えにくいのですが、手元にあるのはSAS-HDDばかりでパラレルSCSIのHDDは
もはや所持していませんので実験ができません。
パラレルSCSIのHDDにSL7.0ないしはSL7.1をインストールすることに成功している人はいませんでしょうか？

7から32ビット（i386）版ってなくなった？
